"This was a shot in the arm! It is not often that I feel so energized and validated leaving PD!"
~Teacher Evaluation Comment~

Kristina works with school systems in a variety of models, all of which can be tailored to the school or district’s needs.

Kristina works both as an ASCD faculty member and as an independent consultant. Potential models are outlined below. The models can be used as described or in combination with one another, customized for each school's or district's needs.

Large-Group Keynotes and Workshops

Kristina is available to work with educators in large-group settings to conduct full staff professional development workshops or to deliver keynote addresses at the school, district, or organizational level. No matter the size of the group, workshops are interactive and practical, requiring application and processing with colleagues. Follow up work can occur in any of the settings described here.

Coaching/Lesson Study/Model Teaching

Small group workshops can be combined with opportunities for Kristina to work with teachers via observation and coaching, lesson study collaborations, or by modeling best practice through “guest teaching” episodes in K-12 classrooms with debriefing and training in strategies featured during the lessons.

Small-Group Workshops

Many districts choose to conduct professional development with small groups of teachers to pilot or springboard staff initiatives. Kristina conducts concentrated workshops for teacher leaders, coaches, professional learning communities, curriculum writers, content-area departments, interdisciplinary/grade level/vertical teams, etc. The emphasis is on application and transfer.

Needs-Assesment/Evaluation

Kristina, individually or in collaboration with colleagues, is available to conduct program, school, or district wide evaluations to assess teachers’ use of best practices in curriculum, assessment, and/or instruction, as well as to provide feedback and recommendations for next steps.

What Participants have to say about Kristina's Sessions:

  • I appreciated the modeling of best practices and the clear examples provided...
  • This PD provided the perfect flow of having us complete activities in a hands-on manner, but also thoroughly explaining the strategies and telling us why they are successful with students with evidence and proof. Great pacing…interactive with videos, digital posts, [small] group talk, and [full group] discussion. Great examples of concrete, student-centered activities that I am excited to try with my students. Dr. Doubet was engaging, interactive, entertaining, and connected with us by [using] the strategies she was teaching.
  • Dr. Doubet is an amazing presenter! Such an interactive session that was well planned and allowed us to actually try the strategies! Practical applications and specific examples made this such a useful workshop. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
  • I value Kristina’s sense of humor, experience, and understanding of what it is to be a teacher.
